Meet the member: Our spotlight this month is on full network member Dr Nikhil Shah | Lecturer | Belfast School of Architecture and the Built Environment | Ulster University
"I believe in energy for all: accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
As an active researcher in energy, I strongly advocate for embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across the entire energy ecosystem not only from the end-user perspective but at every stage, including policy makers, designers, implementers, manufacturers, researchers, and consumers.
I currently serve as Chair of the Strategy, Advisory, and Policy Working Group for the BAME+ Network at Ulster University, where I champion mentorship, guidance, opportunities, and equality for all sections of society in energy research.
I joined the IGNITE Network+ to connect with like-minded professionals, share best practices, and learn from each other’s experiences in advancing energy innovation.
I am particularly passionate about integrating EDI principles into teaching, research, events, and workshops, ensuring that diversity and inclusion are central to shaping the future of energy."
