FA2: EDI Challenges, Round 2
The energy sector faces challenges due to workforce diversity disparities and unequal access to resources. As digital technologies like smart meters and billing systems become essential, understanding how developer demographics impact user satisfaction among minority ethnic (ME) communities is crucial. This project explores this influence by characterizing the socio-economic and demographic profiles of digital application developers, investigating how these backgrounds affect inclusivity and effectiveness, and analysing team diversity's impact on ME community satisfaction. Methodologically, it involves surveying energy sector professionals, conducting focus groups with ME communities in London and Birmingham, and developing a statistical model using Bayesian analysis and Random Forest methods. The project aims to deliver comprehensive reports detailing findings and providing recommendations to enhance diversity and improve ME communities' satisfaction with digital energy applications.
