FA2: EDI Challenges

The “Did This Really Happen?!” project documents and fights against everyday sexism in science through comics illustrating real testimonies submitted anonymously by members of the scientific community. The short format of the stories, and visually-striking presentation, are an extremely powerful vehicle to start difficult conversations in a non-confrontational manner.

Over the next year, as well as continuing to publish real stories of everyday sexism, DTRH will develop and run a series of workshops within the academic and professional scientific environments these stories take place in. The objective of these workshops is three-fold: 1) to offer a safe space to share sexist situations and collectively develop solutions, 2) to engage with those who think sexism is not a widespread issue by bringing the DTRH project and its stories to them and 3) to systematically collect new data on how sexism is experienced across disciplines, career stages and genders within the energy research sector.
