The 4 year EPSRC-funded IGNITE Network+ and EDI+ projects
which aim to increase equality, diversity and inclusion in the energy research
community officially launched on 18 April 2023. Speaker and participants
attended the University’s Learning and Teaching building for a day of inspiring talks to outline each
network, as well as perspectives from
EPSRC and researchers,
this was followed by a lively panel discussion Q&A, networking lunch and
afternoon workshop to inform participants about how you can get involved in the
networks through flexible funding call
and EDI fellowships:

In addition, the IGNITE Network+ has also launched their first flexible funding call EDI Challenges: Identifying
barriers and designing disruptive initiatives (closing date 26 May 2023).
They are inviting proposals for suggestions where data collection, support or
interventions are particularly needed, projects can range from £1,000 to
£20,000 at 100% full economic cost (fEC). IGNITE Network+ will fund 80% of the
eligible full economic cost (fEC). Projects from 3 up to 12 months are
envisaged, but other lengths can be considered as appropriate for the proposed
