PrescribedActivity
The network will aim to raise the profile of
individual network members from underrepresented backgrounds. Early career
researchers will be invited to lead workshops and network activities, via
support from Flexible Funding (FA2). More senior network members will provide mentoring, with a
particular emphasis on advocacy. Mentoring/advocacy partnerships (where
requested by mentees) will be set-up by the Programme Manager, supported by the Management Group, Advisory Board and Network Champions. Opportunities will be identified (prizes, fellowships, awards,
invited lectures, government and professional advisory roles etc) and
individuals from underrepresented backgrounds will be supported to apply. The
Network will collect data on application and success rates. Feedback from
mentors/mentees will be sought annually and partnerships changed where
appropriate.
The IGNITE Network+ innovative pilot mentoring programme launched on 1 October 2023 with Expressions of interest closing on 27 October 2023. Find out more on the dedicated mentoring page
