Data will be collected (using an intersectional lens) and analysed to quantify the bias in research metrics of being from underrepresented groups. Energy researchers at partner Universities (PDRAs and ECR academics) will be surveyed for publication rates, authorship (including author position), numbers of collaborators and citation information. Funding applications and success rate diversity data will also be requested from the ESPRC Energy programme, including intersectionality and more detailed ethnic characteristics. The data will be used to calculate the bias in research metrics. The findings will be published in digestible form alongside recommendations to combat the observed effects. Findings will be disseminated widely, including to promotion panels in member universities, and university management groups/executive teams.
